A landscape architect visits and surveys the site according to the requirements of the investor or the architect. Preliminary design proposal is then made in liaison with the project manager.  First exterior design tender is then offered within a short period of time.  This preliminary procedure is free of charge.
Price specification is based on several important parameters such as the site area, complexity or level of detail of the project.  If the tender is agreed, the project is specified as well as the time deadlines and payments terms and conditions.

To get more in-depth survey of the site, the landscape architect will then visit the site again and undertake various activities such as: taking the exact measurements, taking photographs of the terrain, listing the existing plants, checking the underground installation or micro-climate factors.  In some cases, when the terrain has extreme height variations, it is important to employ a qualified surveyor to make a detailed terrain assessment. If there is an up-to-date base plan, which is usualy the case in collaboration with architect, that is not neccesary.

To summarise, the first phase of the project is a preliminary design or sketches of the site, consisting of the general concepts and ideas as well as potential plants and building material.  Then there are consultations with the client, possible amendments of the project (up to two times) and the final agreement on the design.

Second phase consists of the graphics and written specification.
Concept design is less complex and therefore cheaper.
Main design entails all crucial information for the successful construction of the project.
